During the time Sandy Harris has spent processing student financial aid packages at the University of Virginia School of Law, 10 US presidents have come and gone, along with six university presidents, eight university deans faculties of law and six deans of admission. Only four people have overseen financial aid operations during Harris’ 50 years there, including his current boss, Jennifer Hulvey, the assistant dean for financial aid, education and planning. U.S. stocks rallied on Wednesday, recouping this week’s losses, as investors pushed through the earnings season and weighed upbeat economic data from the services sector. PennyMac Financial Services profits fall, but beat analysts’ estimates
Servicing revenue, some secondary market gains, layoffs and other cost cuts more than offset the impact of a market-wide drop in originations at PennyMac Financial Services than analysts expected, but its second-quarter earnings quarter still fell in relation to comparable previous periods. The company earned $129.2 million between April and June, down from $173.6 million in the previous quarter and $204 million a year earlier.
