Zimmer Biomet has announced an increase in net sales in its financial results for the second quarter of 2022, according to a company press release.

Zimmer Biomet reported $1.782 billion in net sales for the quarter, up 1% from the year-ago period. The company also reported $153.7 million in net earnings for the quarter.

“Our performance a [quarter two] was well above our own internal expectations due to a stronger-than-expected recovery from COVID during the quarter and continued execution of the [Zimmer Biomet] team in our regions and segments. Despite the expected increased pressure from exchange rates and inflation, we are once again updating our guidance,” Zimmer Biomet chairman, president and CEO Bryan Hanson said in the statement. “We believe our focus on innovation and transformation of our business continues to position us well for long-term growth and continued delivery for our shareholders,” Hanson added.

According to the statement, the company is updating its financial guidance for the full year 2022 to increase its previous ranges.
