Rohrig Financial opened its doors on National Highway last June, but the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the young business with a ceremonial ribbon cutting Wednesday morning outside its office in Echo Manor.

Rohrig Financial President Shawn Rohrig joined LPL Financial and opened his firm last year after 10 years at Hazlett, Burt & Watson. He joined this company as a financial advisor in 2011 and became a certified financial planner for the group in 2018.

Prior to that, the lifelong Wheeling resident worked as a registered representative with First Investors in Canonsburg, Pa., and with the Scheeren Wealth Management Group at Wells Fargo Advisors in Wheeling.

The Bethany College graduate now provides financial advice and consultation on financial planning, investments and retirement planning to local residents.

Rohrig said business had been strong in his company’s first year, with good customer retention. He appreciated Wednesday’s ribbon cutting as a celebration of his first year in business.

He plans to be in business for many more.

“It’s been good,” he said. “We’ve had a great first year retaining our customers and look forward to serving many more in the future.”
