The deadline for submission of applications for the vice-chancellor of Finance, Operations and Administration is now open. The position is a key one at UC Santa Cruz, as the VC-FOA has a wide range of responsibilities. Schools, Housing and Educational Services; Financial affairs; Physical planning, development and operations; Risk and Security Services; Human Resources of the staff; and Sustainability are all units of the division.
The position was previously known as vice chancellor of Business and Administrative Services (BAS). The division name and position were formally changed on 1 July to better reflect the division’s key functions.
Stakeholder meetings were held in May to gather input on the qualifications required for the position. Campus Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor Lori Kletzer is chairing the search. Opus Partners, a leading national executive search firm, is helping. Campus leaders hope to complete the search by the end of the 2022 calendar year.
Biju Kamaleswaran, associate vice chancellor, financial affairs and campus controller, has served as interim vice chancellor since early January. He will continue in this role until the new vice chancellor arrives on campus.
