Remove the financial burden from those struggling with ALS

ROCK HILL, SC (CN2 NEWS) – The Give Back Tour is a non-profit organization that works to raise money and awareness for a community member affected by ALS.

ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a disease of the nervous system that weakens muscles and affects physical function.

Derek Ingram was diagnosed with ALS last year when he was 37, and his story has led him to become the second recipient supported by the Give Back Tour.

Derek, a husband and father of 3, is looking for experimental treatments to help with his disease, as there is currently no cure for ALS.

Because his treatments are considered experimental, insurance won’t cover the high costs, which is why the Give Back Tour’s help is so important to him.

“Give Back Tour” founder Michael E. Sanders, Jr. said, “Money isn’t everything, but money is the most important thing in these kinds of battles, especially when you’re doing experimental things for your treatments , you know it definitely becomes a financial burden when you’re already fighting an uphill battle.”

The Give Back Tour recently held a lip sync fundraising event at Rock Hill’s Brakefield where they raised over $7,000 to help Derek fight this disease.

The non-profit organization will continue to raise money and support Derek during his battle, for more information click here.
