JPMorgan’s Micky Yule has taken home a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The para-powerlifter has been juggling his work in bank operations with intense training as he looks to add to his pile of medals from the Tokyo Olympics and European Games.
At around 22:00 on 4 August, Yule claimed her first Commonwealth Games medal.
He won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and won the 2015 European Championships in the under-80kg category, but has finished fourth in his last two Commonwealth Games.
The 43-year-old former British Army sergeant has both legs amputated after stepping on an improvised explosive device on a tour in Afghanistan 12 years ago.
Yule was the flag bearer for Team Scotland at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on 28 July.
“Anything short of a medal will mean nothing to me,” he told Financial News ahead of this year’s Games.

Yule has been with JPMorgan since June. The bank had 11 athletes this year as part of a program to get top athletes without finance experience through the doors to expand the bank’s skill set.
The program, which had five candidates last year when it started, includes a half-year internship, with the prospect of full-time employment after a period of training and mentoring.
